• just make your own.

  • saw a pair of these the other day

seems like an option for some, fully spd compatable. look a bit like nikes

  • Those SPD Dunk Gyrizos were on Nike.com for a few days only for US orders only and were about $300 IIRC.

Never seen a pair for sale on Ebay; I think they made very very few pairs as they were team issue only for the Olympics and I'm guessing they just sold the spare/unissued pairs.

  • And just as I started to dispair

puts them nicely in my price range!

  • ^ Aaarrgghhh, my eyes!

  • What's the latest news from the DZR owners? Still happy? Would they work well with Eggbeaters or do you need a bit of a platform under them to cater for sole bendiness?

  • as far as I know they should work with egg beaters, they are just like any other spd really, if your feet and knees like them egg beaters go for it.
still in love with mine and am waiting for work to buy a second pair..

  • I've been wearing my DZRs a lot. I really like them. Very happy with them. The sole is nice and stiff, not too bendy. There's no reason they wouldn't work with eggbeaters. I use Time Aliums and they're fine.

  • Thanks. I've never tried eggbeaters but I'm prejudiced against SPDs. To me they look like a broken stapler or the innards of a toaster or something. I've used Looks for ever.

But Eggbeaters sound like an acquired taste. And a bit maintenance hungry. So I suppose I should be boring and get some used A530s and ignore them.

  • Get some Look eggbeaters, problem solved.

  • The 520s are better looking

    Or get Andy's mythical pedals.

    Eh?

  • Look licensed the eggbeater design from Crank Bros for a while and sold the pedals as 4x4. They are rare as unicorn poo (although I have a pair).

  • Still liking my DZRs. Worn down a bit of the rubber from the edge of the sole so they're easier to clip into now.

  • Just ordered some Strasses a second ago!

I had them. Loads of stainless steel, and a bombproof bearing set-up. Never appreciated them untill they died. Now all commuter pedals seem flimsey.

As for casual, I ordered some black Prendas TT overshoes to cover the ruby slippers I have coming tomorrow. Although I could be on to a sneaky cheat here.
