I bought the Cool Camping book and winged it for my trip earlier this year. Even on busy bank holidays there is always space for a bike and a small tent.
Fully loaded up big Guzzi over Hardknott Pass was a learning experience. -

Coppi can give you route ideas, but obviously Markyboy is right. He is correct and what you should do.
Bonus is that you get lovely food and bikers have loads of respect.

Good to see there's some engined two-wheeled love here as well.
Here's the reason why I'm looking to get back on a push bike and loose some weight:More pics here: http://thingymadoodle.com/monster/
I have kept quiet but it has to come out.
Rim tape - God I hate rim tape.
S2r? Why did ducati use the smaller disc, two pot sliding calipers and coffin master cylinders? Get the bigger discs, bigger brembo calipers (p8) and a ducati radial master cylinders. Mine came from ducati complete with the levers for really cheap (cheaper than the importers gp too) The brakes will be awesome, with loads of feedback. Then the lightweight marchinese wheels and it'll corner amazingly....... then the fork replacement, cartridge kit in the standard forks and then the rear shock replaced for a nice adjustable one to be set up properly.Matt black headlamp and rim does suit it well.

Right, there were rumblings of a second trip to the continent before the winter sets in - Bruges was mentioned as a destination. The only weekend I could do is 29/30 October - does that work for people?
I suggest Gerald aims to go the day before to ensure he gets on the same ferry/train as the rest of us.

A bit off-topic, but could anyone use a cheap work bench, before it heads to ebay? Big, heavy and not in London, but one of the best in its day.
Hydraulic ram has suffered in my tender care, and can leak. I say can because I've just used it and it didn't.

How was goodwood? Really wanted to go this year but as usuall about 100 other things got in the way - mainly me being lazy though. Got the shit-tracker up and running now, was going to ride it over. Will need to post up a pick so if you see me you can give me the old one finger salute.

I finally did Bikesafe on Saturday, it was brilliant, almost should be compulsory.
I learned loads, and there was lots of banter with the police riders. They all love bikes, and even told me to take the bung out of my exhaust. When I asked them whether I'd get done for it being so loud, I was told "In 20 years of doing this job, I've never booked someone for a loud pipe."
Job done, bike now sounds even more awesome. Italian thunder, as nature intended!
markyboy hehehe. its about time we planned another overseas excursion. vello was thinking belgium before the end of the year.
