    In the spirit of co-operation I will do this on the polobike, but I can't see why geared riders should be excluded or frowned upon, just like I don't feel it fair if you do choose to go geared to then moan about the slow pace of the ride.

    Honestly I don't feel it fair that on any casual ride such as this, that should be the case anyway.

    What was nice about Herne Bay was towards the end of the ride groups emerged and rode the last 20/30k on their own at their own pace, whether a roadie 25mph peloton or a slow meandering cruise with conversation.

    I think there's room for this and all types of bicycle and rider on a casual ride, surely? If you feel frustrated maybe you're missing the point of these rides.
