  • My Mercian is now sold to a buddy so I put the wheels on this.

Man you have some nice bikes. Do you know what the frame is? I take it's not a gt.

  • My Mercian is now sold to a buddy so I put the wheels on this.

I have a DA headset to replace the crummy strong-light one as well as a DA Easton seat-post coming for it but it seems it is lost in the mail system!!!

Also still need to remove the crappy silver spray paint from the forks and the rest of the frame.

this has potential to be pornworthy

  • with different wheels yes

  • with different wheels yes

    NO!

  • i don't like mixing Italian and japanese, one or the other.

  • racist

  • My Mercian is now sold to a buddy...

    You and he were... buddys?

  • Finally got around to take a shot of my bike. It's a Pelizzoli Leggenda custom built with a 1 1/8" head tube and bsa bb. Wheels are temp, other than that pretty much done.

  • Looks great!

  • 100% perfect in my eyes and going straight to the porn thread.

Nice to see a trackbeikforthestreet without a silly-short stem.

  • ^ perfect!
    great bike larsenroed ;)

  • The Leggenda looks great.

  • Wow, thanks guys!

  • Starting on a new single speed project tomorrow: fairly old dawes frame in a sort of silvery blue colour with, unfortunately, brand X flyer wheels because these are the only ones I've got and a Dura-Ace 7402 crankset. I've also found a set of dawes handlebars which should finish off the build nicely. Will post pictures tomorrow. It's nice to be building something again with nice bits

well, seeing as I've been collecting the parts for the last 4 weeks and just got the frame ready to start building I'd say it is a current project thanks.

  • I'm not the one who said it was starting tomorrow......

    thanks

    Ha!

Na it isn't a GT, it had be spray painted by the old owner silver and the GT decals put on. I think he worked at a GT store? The silver comes off pretty easy which is good.

It is a New Zealand made Bauer frame, luged columbus max. It was built back when Bauer were good and hadn't shipped everything off shore. Now they make cheap generic mountain bikes and road bikes.

Yeah, i'm not super keen on pasta and rice. I was planning on all Dura Ace with either open pros or those hard ano Tb14s? It will be a bit of a mishmash to start with though...

  • I suppose a small threaded rod would be ideal but don't know if I've ever seen anything with a small enough diameter.

What's the diameter of a Sturmey shifter rod, too thick? They're available in different lengths too.

  • The SRAM levers would need something as thin as modern road brake cable, there isn't much space spare. A 14g (2mm) spoke won't pass freely through the cableway, so a 1.6mm threaded rod would be the right size, or 10BA which is more likely to be easily available, you can buy that from model shops e.g. https://maccmodels.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=255_170&products_id=867&osCsid=570e92c26a131bd76bcb0ceb17f16c1e

  • 1.6mm or 1.2 is the size of piercing bars. Also quite handy - they don't rust.

I have a tap and die for a 1.6mm bar and some spare bar so I could do some checking if you want.

  • This is why i suggested PTFE rod. Surely this would work as well as metal rod but be easier to cut and thread?

  • But you'd strip the thread the first time you accidentally grabbed a handful of "brake".
