yep they are, I've put them on the back though. the shortest I've seen so far are some 55mm Shimano blocks but IME they aren't great for stoppability. cheers for the suggestions I'd forgotten about those Vans ones, they're threaded posts but even if they weren't I'm not sure I could tolerate trainer-shaped brakes...
