  • I may have the opportunity to buy this frame and fork, has any one got any idea about it? my searches have turned up with not much info. Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Bit premature bearing in mind the waiting list...but at least I have plenty of time to save.
I haven't even paid the deposit yet but i'm already rather excited...this one will definitely be a full on 'Project'. :]

  • niice frames

  • motobecane jubilee sport. Great comfort and speed, nice agressive riding position.

Runs really nice, but struggling with 10spd cassette plus 5spd friction shifter. Cannot shift to the largest cogs, stops on cog number 8. Just seem to run out of cable. Also there is quite some autoshifting when climbing.

    It's beautiful

I'm yet to see a bike of theirs where some aspect of it ruins it for me. Some nice work, almost porn worthy but theres always something...

  • How long is the list for an english? Incredible looking bikes.

I deciphered that as 'there is always one small aspect that ruins it for me'...is that what you mean? :]

This will be a complete package for me, designed to meet my requirements exactly. Looks won't be high on the priority list...function first. :]
Although once that's sorted...it's final aesthetics can be worked on. :]

  • Please be getting a snow bike

Poor wording on my part there. The frames are lovely but there's always something in the bike that fucks it up a bit. like the upsidedown ahead on the mtb. Every bike on the website has one annoying thing that ruins it for me.

  • Please be getting a snow bike

Had one before...but this one won't be.

  • the Bob Jackson beater just got a whole lot more practical

I get the same problem, though I am running a 6spd on a 6spd friction as it were. For weeks I've sworn its my knee brushing the shift lever ever forwards until it changes to 2nd, then 3rd, then 4th, then have to stop get off and put it back in 1st.

I'm now positive its due to frame flex. my cables go over the top of the bb and then through a further cable guide at teh back before diving inside the cable housing for the rear mech, I figure every big crank stroke and weight shift, flexs the frame the opposite way to the BB, and after a few big cranks, the cable is 'nudged' through the guides causing a shift. Sounds far fetched, but I bet thats whats happening :(

Since the Brooklyn's your fixed wheel bike, geared roadie or Divide-style mtb?

  • Ok, quite some news on the Current Projects front..

    First, I finished this:

731OS Graham Weigh, full DA.. Headset, seatpin, brake and brakelever 7410, chainring 7600, crank and hubs 7710.. Only non-DA is BB (Ultegra, came with crank), pedals and cog.. Colour is darker in real life.. Purple glitter.. ;) More pics in my flickr..
The electrical tape is there because I stripped some of the paint while removing a sticker.. DOH! Contemplating better solutions..

    Second is this:

Cannondale Killer V500, with some CODA bits and mixed 7-speed shimano group.. Fork has to be refilled or summit', not to much shock in it left.. First ATB I've ever owned, so clueless, but excited.. Note the matching bottle cages! Ignore saddle angle, not mine..

    Third is this:

'77 Gazelle Champion Mondial 753.. When agreeing the sale with the seller I wasn't aware it was 753.. So stumbling upon a 753 was a big bonus.. Gruppo is mainly Super Record.. :) Pantho Pinarello rings.. Thing is, I bought it to strip, sell off Super Record, whack on Shimano 600 Arabesque (of which I have a group lying here) and turn it into a nifty little city racer for my GF.. But hell, you don't do that to a 753 frame.. I'm still torn.. Anyone a nice replacement for swaps, max 54 c-t st, about 53 c-c tt? ;)
As said, more photo's of everything in my Flickr

  • a year past since we found the bike...
it's a mesh for those who like their bikes period correct but rides so smooth
and sturdy that i couldn't resist to post it.

Running out of cable is what it's doing, I should think. It wouldn't have been designed to pull a derailleur that far across the cassette.

There are some Shimano bar-end shifters that can operate as non-indexed friction shifters for 8/9-speed, I think, so you might find downtube friction levers with enough range.

But friction shifters with a 10-speed cassette is kind of perverse. And quite amusing. :)

  • There's a DA 10spd downturn shifter out there.

  • Dmczone I just spotted the Ciocc... gulp... Amazing. With the fabled black Shamals, too! Flippin lovely.

Keep meaning to post my Geoffrey Butler up here. It's still a project just keeping it shiny.

  • Just finished the missus single speed, something a bit different from her 3 speed Raleigh twenty!

  • 3 days worth of sanding later..

  • 3 days worth of sanding later..

    Saracen?

  • Cannondale M500

it didn;t come out well in the photo, but the stem, bars, seatpost and cranks are almost mirror shiny. I couldn't be arsed getting the frame that shiny, as it has a dent and the wire wheel left horrible gouges that I didn't have the right grade sandpaper to remove. Might paint it white now

forks are getting changed, and the front mech will be replaced with some kind of chain guide

  • So many great projects! Lovely stuff

Is that the deep red bike you ride on the track? Would love to see some pics if so
