• busy again today. fitted up diff then took the rear mount off to put in urethane mount, after i stuff up, i removed the spare one and tried again, still took a bit of modding. finally done then bolted on drive shafts.

moved to trans and wanted to drain the box before i did anything, again time consuming job with fluid running down me arms. internals all looked good, just like an alien brain full of electronics. pan was dirty so cleaned that out, never realised they put a magnet in there to pick-up all the metal bits, put that back together.

started on heads. time consuming jobs undoing a thousand bolts, included rockers and extractors bolts. forget to undo bolt holding on trans tube, so had a bit of a wrestling match, i won, headgasket lost. pistons were pretty crusty (so scraped all the shit off them), amazing could still see hone marks in the bore's, which to me is a little odd for a 140k engine. cleaned up heads as well, trialed the crappy valve spring tool, broke it, fixed it, then got it off yay! tried a dual one for ls1's, but don't work as these heads are bigger and there is an offset exhaust rocker.

finally had a go at cracking balancer bolt, by jamming a spanner between one of the spokes and the block. with the help of big persuasion pipe it came off. then attacked balancer and after a few attempts located the tabs inside to help it stay on. then slowly slowly removed balancer.

    soo getting there slowly.
