I agree the difference between my 2.55 29er tyres, and some 3.8 Larrys isnt going to be much on proper hardpack, or fluffy powder. But you should notice a difference in conditions inbetween these, were you'd get bogged down far less. I actually picked that photo intentionally. Classic foot deep semi pack ridge, with soft verges (real ankle twister, for winter trail runners). I'm guessing from the photo. But it looks to me to be a good example of where the fatbike shines.
