Yeah, I know! It was cable I had lying around and it's being replaced as I don't trust some frayed inners I had in my shed to support my fat arse on the downhills around here.
Will be trimmed/replaced when I get over this crippling hangover. Thanks for the compliments, I don't think my camera does the shininess justice. I also have the problem of having to buy a decent lock so that I can actually leave it places. I'm not used to having a 'nickable' bike.
Nice - you might want to look at the cable outer lengths though, the rear brake cable outer is much too long (see Sheldon).

Douglas, just pull the cable on the front to shorten the rear one, so you'll have enough cable on the front to not compromise the steering.

It can actually lose a couple of inches, easily. It was that length for before it was routed under the bar tape, but there's plenty of slack in it.
Don't worry, on it! (and yeah, that's top tube internal routing) -

+1 They look well tidy, are they Ofmega mistrals?
-
• #49657
Indeed, ofmega mistrals. Currently milled down road doubles but Ive got a set of the actual track ones now too which will be going on very shortly. Just need to get a custom made chainring in the old mistral pattern

Currently converting this into more of a commuter for work. I know, I know it's cringing and so Anti. Don't get me wrong I still find the curves as todger tremblingly delicious today as I did in 98' but seriously? Sorry.
Still needs: Black Chris King/ shorter post/ decent cranks/ decent stickers/ throwing infront of a train.
If you see me around East, point, laugh or flick shit at me please. I deserve it.

They're lovely - I've got a pair of track cranks I'm thinking of shifting at some point. But I know if I did I'd never find another...

Mags ate long gone! Too thick and also not straight so I had clerance problem at the front!
I get the point of more fun, but breaking on them was a mission! An I was also running a suicide hub!
The ivy is doing well, the lawn is been looked after properly now too! In fact I just Cut it again! -
• #49669
i might build this up but not sure????
-
• #49670
build it up with a chain and some pedals?
-
• #49671
wheels are off one of my other bikes and the bars are abit shitty
-
• #49672
What's stopping you? ...and what gaps are there in your stable that this could fill?
If it were me; I'd either go for drops, deeeeeeeep rims, 2 brakes and a huge gear; Or put a rack on the back with swept back bars and have it as an uber sensible scoblemoble.
-
• #49673
I like the looks of the new iteration, does it ride better? (beyond the braking improvement)
-
• #49674
did you weld over the joint on that 20? can't figure out why you'd do that. Those joints are strong and functional.
Not really current, but new bars and new wheels make for a radically different bike from the Aende that once graced the streets of Londons famous London streets.
Oh and ignore the clip on brake thing, havent decided if Im committing to brakless or not yet.
