If you go for 36 or 38t you'll always have lots of chainrings available for mtb cranks. So many people are running them on 1x9/10 setups these days.

I think I bought a new Deore 36t ring for £9!

I really like the Middleburn SS ring, have one on another bike already, so if I'm going with the thinner option, I'll pick one of them. Will give Velosolo a call next week (they are on holiday) just to see if there if there isn't something they can get, if not I'll plump for Middleburn
