Sounds like he used it on his 7D which means it will work with yours too. My thought s on the auto focus with these mounts is that by wanting a 50mm t1.4 lens you are wanting shallow DoF and never going to be shooting landscapes so will be focussing by eye anyway and don't need to worry about infinity.
