Not all carbon is equal. There's a thread over at weight weenies that has a similar story of the fork failing drastically after a very short period of time, looks to be the same frame from the photos.
I'm sure a lot of the cheap chinese carbon parts are fine, but there will always be someone willing to cut corners in order to make a few more dollars.

From the forks is that the frame/fork that gets referred to as the "Chinarello"?

BTW Weight Weenies keeps timing out for me- down for anyone else?

So i'm thinking of buying a set of these, 24 hole 88mm deep carbon fibre tubulars...
But the issue that I am having is finding 24 hole track hubs or alternatively 20 hole track hubs. I've been through the list of lists for hubs and can't find anything helpful. Any recommendations?

American Classic. Not that cheap, but not crazy expensive.
Altho if it's for the track I'd be tempted to modify a front mtb hub.

DT swiss for £50, looks cool too.

Thanks Hugo those american classic hubs look perfect.
Why do you say modified MTB hub, lightness? The am classic hubs are 100g lighter...

modified mtb hub = bolt on track sprocket.

• #888
Oh yes of course! Will UTFS on that one

"Buy cheap, buy teeth."
That's the saying, right?
-
• #893
lol.
I don't know how people can buy and race those frames, I feel scared enough riding my s-works for 'recrational' use - and that's with Specialized's mental quality control behind it.
Wheels on the other hand.... so blingy.. mmm

• #894
Meh, I've already crash tested my S-Works. Tougher than my alu Peugeot.
-
• #895
yeah aluminiums shit though isn't it?
-
• #896
I love alu. No really, I do.

Is this track-legal?

who rides a track bike on the track though? Dickheads, that's who...
Just being a bit careful. But I do like to run a slightly wider rear tyre. (I have a 22 rear and a 20 front on the fixed). The 25mm also looks nicer, as it fits tighter to the seat tube cut away on the Racemaster. Might just be the MTB'r in me looking at the front and rear tyres separatly. Maybe its not such a big deal on the road. But having a closer PSI front and rear just kinda seems more balanced.
