  • Much like your example of jumping in front of a train to save something you love, I'd be attempting to save what I loved from the burning building rather than wasting a few potentially life saving seconds drawing a weapon on someone. That was my point.

    Ok, the obvious stuff first: The goal is to protect or save the lives of your children.

    Ok, now on to the difficult stuff, the nuanced stuff you are struggling with: in the scenario where shooting someone would service the point above I would be prepared to do just that (whilst being accepting of the inane technical protestations (you have no gun etc)).

    So, in the scenario where the act of shooting someone would be "wasting a few potentially life saving seconds" I would obviously not be putting my children's life at risk to fulfil a statement made on a cycling forum.

    But this is all getting too complex:

    Simply, if someone was trying to set fire to where my son sleeps and I had the means, I would, to protect my son's life, shoot at the cunt.

    Now, invent and conjure your objections but hopefully you can take the spirit of what I am saying and understand what it means.
