Was that Cameron's address to the nation? A speaker with a true gift for oratory could have filled 5 minutes much more satisfactorily than that. Weak effort.

David Cameron
"You are not only wecking the lives of others, you are not only wrecking your communities, you are potentially wrecking your own lives too. ... You will feel the full force of the law. And if you are old enough to commit these crimes you are old enough to face the punishments."

Cameron is utterly out of touch with everything. The plonker just has no idea. AND I am generally centre-right leaning...

Can't quite belive there's so many armchair socialists who're defending the looters.
You're fucking idiots. You obviously don't own any property nor families. You have also never been outside and faced those "youths". Bunch of stupid cunts. -

Evans Cycles, Chalk Farm/Camden Town this morning:
Manager was pretty sanguine, but said the worst thing was for the people in the flats living above the shop - terrified of the place being torched.
And all the staff bikes and a few customer bike's went.
Those entry level Bianchi's are quite shit, not surprised its left behind
All the bikes on the shop floor are locked together.

You're fucking idiots. You obviously don't own any property nor families. You have also never been outside and faced those "youths". Bunch of stupid cunts. That's harsh. I have three kids, own property in London and had 300 people clashing with the police outside my window on Sunday night. Just because I don't think describing them as "cunts" is adequate or particularly helpful, that makes me a a "fucking idiot" and a "stupid cunt" does it?

Bunch of stupid cunts. It's not a case of defending them and their fucking mental antisocial behaviour. But you've got to be realistic about the bigger picture, and why the fuck this is happening; so it doesn't happen again and again and again…

That's what I've been trying to tell people these last few days. But being wrapped up in their cosy bubbles they can't even conceive the thought that others don't live the way they do.
Simply put: If you have never experienced it, you cannot even imagine it.
And that's a shame, as the realities for those who are in extreme poverty and hardship is something that makes every small thing an impossible task.
I also tried to explain that the youth are furious, that most people are furious. They see corruption in the banks, corruption in politicians, and both of those classes continue without a care, and the poor pay every day. They protested and striked over the future of education and pensions, and no-one really gave a fuck and it didn't change anything.
So now you have enormous swathes of people (not just the youth) angry in a deep way that they're not being listened to or acknowledged.
Someone in Tottenham being interviewed the other day was asked whether rioting works, his response was "Well, you're talking to us now aren't you. You're finally listening now aren't you".
I too think this isn't an end, if anything now that they're learned their power if they act in many small groups (hard to police without an enormous standing force), that this is more likely to happen with greater frequency in the future with far more issues being trigger points for it.
i totally disagree with the vast majority of this. I'm not denying social poverty but we are far too quick to give people excuses for anti social behavior.

People are stuck in places, not able to do their jobs and travel around the city freely. They are at risk of robbery or having their homes and cars destroyed and having their rights limited in the future.
Which is exactly how these 'yobs' have to live their lives every single fucking day, it's little wonder they are fucked off and ready to smash shit up. Constant fear, constant police harassment, no jobs, no freedom of movement, risk of mugging or robbery etc etc etc.
It's no surprise they are kicking off, looting and smashing the shit out of stuff. You're told that you are a mindless yob, an animal, trouble, scum often enough you act like that. Your constantly bombarded with images of the rich, and are forced to watch as the rest of society shuns your neighbourhood and it's little wonder that given the opportunity you loot the shit out of the mobile phone stores and foot locker.
Fair enough a lot of it is being done for shits and giggles, they see that the police are on the back foot and the middle classes are scared so they kick off even more for fun. But we all need to realise there's a reason as to why this exploded, and the last few governments have simply added fuel to this bonfire waiting to happen.
The answer to this is not more police and tougher sentences, the answer lies in a long hard look at our society and the ever growing gap between the haves and the have-nots. More equality is what is needed, not more water cannons

That sucks. A locked bike usually doesn't deter people though does it? Especially a Krypto chain.

So you faced these "youths" did you?
Good, riff raff would never appreciate a Pegoretti.
