It is! Thanks Wicksie! Beers on me tomorrow. Is it a wise idea just to hand tighten the new freewheel on?
-
• #2703
It will tighten as you ride anyway.
-
• #2704
yeah true... I am gonna have to take back what I said about my bmx cranks being ready to roll, just tested it and it's probably the most ridiculous thing I have done in a long time. Back to the drawing board...

• #2705
Hmm... Am i the only one wary of going to peckham tomorrow evening?
-
• #2706
good point actually. Can we go to Newington instead if the big boys ain't playing tomorrow? Just though it might be a bit more central hence a bit safer?
-
• #2708
On the one hand, they haven't been smashing things in the same place two nights in a row, the other, twitter saying gangs mugging people of bikes. makes scales gesture
Wait to see what tomorrow holds?
-
• #2709
My mate says we could use own mallets to knock some heads if the rioters get to the car park.
-
• #2710
Yeah I'm thinking it's not a great idea, especially since bikes are being targeted. I would assume that polo is not on tomorrow.
-
• #2711
Quorn road?
#notmakingittomorrowbutthinksbeginnersshouldbesomewhere
Failing that newington, nothing wrong with moving there to avoid looters!
-
• #2712
whispers West?
-
• #2713
I still crave polo, never been to quorn road, but I'm not sure about being at Newts with only a few of us :/
-
• #2714
I think if we decide with place to go to and then get a list up tonight see if anyone would wanna go?? By the sound of it, there should be at least 6 people? I would be coming with + 1, and I think there is another guy what left a message on some other thread that he wants to come?? I don't mind either place.
As unhappy as I am with that stupid idea of BMX cranks, I do want to give it a proper go.

Er, Quorn Road is in the middle of an Estate in Peckham.
I think it would be silly to make plans now. Lets reassess tomorrow. -
• #2716
+1
i'm available tomorrow, but might not want to be riding about, will join in discussion tomorow
-
• #2717
It's not really about playing polo which is the problem. But that most folks go home by themselves. I don't really fancy cycling from peckham up to the city and then up through dalston and hackney to tottenham.
Unless things change significantly I'm out.

• #2718
No, quite. Rye Lane is a disaster zone today, cars were burnt, shops smashed to pieces. I saw the gangs assembling last night before it kicked off and they were well up for it.
I think even if there is calm today, I would still recommend avoiding Peckham.
With all that glass everywhere, the amount of potential punctures could be catastrophic. -
• #2719
I think I am gonna stay home today to catch up with some sleep instead. Stay safe everyone and hope polo resumes normal next week
-
• #2720
Polo is cancelled tonight.
Do not come to peckham. -
• #2721
^ +1000000

• #2722
I think we should leave Wicksie's message at the bottom of this page in case some people don't read the whole page.
NO PECKHAM TONIGHT!!
-
• #2723
ok who's charging? 3,2,1...
-
• #2724
that's pretty much where we play^
PECKHAM POLO OFF TONIGHT

I walked down Rye Lane last night. It wasnt as chaotic as the media made it out, but still a bit of a mess. Strange atmosphere, eerily quiet, too many people wandering around though, hyped up, drinking the looting spoils. I think its probably best to leave the polo for a week until things calm down, I imagine it will happen again tonight, probably in other parts of town.
Yeah I'll bring one assuming it's a 4 pin.
Sandy I reckon Arunas would love those pedal straps but he's away for a few more days.
