  • Campagnolo freeehub, 2010 Zipp wheels is as new condition with Continental Competition tubulars newly fitted. Includes Zipp Skewers. 200 miles on them at most.

    Pictures available.

£950 collected or delivered centrally somewhere.

Before anybody gets their knickers in a twist about repeat ads, duplicate posts etc, I sold my previous set, but I have 2 sets. I have tried to close the other threads to be compliant with 'the rules', but for some reason they haven't closed.

This ad is for the second set. I want to purchase some shallow section Hyperons instead. If you want verification, I can let you know who bought them from here. There is a trail of PMs concerning the sale, so it's all legitimate.

  • Why did you buy two sets?

I like carbon as much as the next man, not sure I'd get two identical wheelsets though.

Now some 404's *and *some 808's, that makes perfect sense.

  • ohh.. cheap Zipp's - fuck you bank account

  • I used to run a few more bikes than I do now. Had many sets of wheels including 2 pairs of 404'. s Wanted an aero advantage, but am not racing any more so have gone for something a bit lighter and less aero, and need less wheels in total.

Part of the justification is also cosmetic. Went from a very modern looking fleet of carbon and titanium bikes and now just have the 2 steel Pegoretti's which I think look better with low pro wheels:

The blue Responsorium shows the Zipps that are for sale, although not in great detail admitedly.

  • :-0

Sorry to derail, but any pics of the old crabon and ti bikes?

  • Whats the white and black stripey one? Very sexy!

  • Looks like this up close.

The black and white one is a Duende in 'Guantanemo' (pearl white with hand applied barbed wire detail), the blue one is a Responsorium in 'Ciavete' (Dario basically does whatever he feel like!).

OK, so I know I am trying to sell some wheels, but here some close ups....

  • I googled it. Lovely... Absolutely lovely. I really like that white one

  • That's MrSmyths five tissue fantasy material in the bank then.

  • Bit cruel RPM. 'Unique' (ahem) for sure, but paint stripper, really? I love 'em both, and you won't see another like it, which is part of the appeal.

So, would it look better with Hyperons or Zipps?

Ignore aerodynamics and weight here - this is purely an aesthetic discussion. Vain I know, but no more racing means I can take more of a biketart's view on these things!

  • ...now **just **have the 2 steel Pegoretti's ...

    Jokes.

Just isn't usually a word you see preceding Pegoretti, let alone two. :)

    Awesome bikes.

  • Yes, understand I am a lucky boy. They are beautifully crafted and ride really nice. The Responsorium is super light whereas the Duende is no lightweight, but there is something reassuring about a bit of substance underneath you.

Anyway, back to those Zipp's I am trying to sell.......

  • Phwore. Probably not to everyone's taste, but I think they are both hot.

Sorry, not interested in the wheels unless they magically transform into Shimano ;)

  • Real dope bikes, you happen to have a flickr account with the old carbon/ti bikes,
something tells me it must've been impressive ;)

  • £102.12 http://www.slanecycles.com/zipp-freehub-body-shimanosram-0508-p-4629.html

:) I was considering it when the other pair were advertised.

I'll leave it a week, and hope that someone, who will make better use of them than I ever could, will take them. If they are still available I'll take it as a sign...

For the sake of my wallet, someone buy them. Please.

They would look sweet on my CAAD9 though...!

  • I've got one of the 'old stable' now. Would look pretty good with these Zipps too. But I'm not racing so no point really......

  • No point? No point?!

They look awesome, and sound great.

  • Resists urge to post pictures

  • I'll post some piccies of the old guard later.

Go on Nick, you know you want them!!

  • Ok, ok I'll take them off your hands.

    But only for £500

  • I'll take them for £531.

  • £900 and they're yours.

  • The Campag cassette is wider than the Sram/Shimano one, with some wheels you need to have them redished and change or respace the axle if you swap freehub body- for example it's a real pain with Tune in this respect.

Would this be required with these, or is it a case of slapping a Shimano freehub body on, and bang the Campag one on eBay?
