  • I was blissfully unaware of your roving drinks. My Fridays I head to LMNH for a quick one after work and then stumble out at about 11 or whenever they close up. Would be curious to crash yours for a change of scenery.

Do it. Bring a helmet and body armour.

  • I like the sound of that.

  • Lolo,

no drinks has a consistently high membership, it goes in cycles, some weeks, souths is packed, some weeks its just a couple. The best you can do is have a venue which stays the same, try and get the venue on side, and be good customers, and make sure everyone who comes down to see what your drinks is about, is welcomed and made to feel like they belong..

Personally though I don't come as often as I should, or would like. I like the flask, bit pricey, but this is london, what pub isn't. And the fact it is on a hill is a blessing and a curse, it means you have to put the effort in to get there, but are rewarded once there with beer.

I don't think we should be trying to make all the drinks the same, and as others say it is the people and not the venue that make a forum drinks, but having a venue which welcomes you is a big plus. Which is what you have at the Flask.

I'm pretty sure any discontent from the flask staff over the birthday celebrations was just that they were overloaded on such a beautiful evening and stressed about serving so many people, not just us. As we were the most vocal/loudest/rowdiest (relatively) obviously we would have gotten the brunt of the blame.

As Bodie has said, think carefully about plans to move from a place which people view as home, West has had a nomadic existence for a little bit and it doesn't do anything for building attendance...

  • Thought they were on form to be fair, especially the smiley bespectacled girl behind the bar..
Didn't hear any complaining at all
    +1... She was super friendly.

its like taking a wee foray into the heart of middle america-na wastedness where eveything tastes and smells of either jim beam or beer. its epic. plus theyve got a great rail outside for stacking up the bikes. Im only half serious about it as a venue but it is a great spot to move onto if your still rearing to go after norths. thats my 2p

  • think pirate matt on speed

  • A bit like Dusk til Dawn - but without Salma Hayek

  • Has anyone ever been to the Big Red while wearing white Sidis?

  • Big Red is where you go when you really should be go home. It's noisy, it sells beer till late and I wouldn't want to go in there sober.
