What's the best 'write out job, get quote' type website out there? Mal said something about MyHammer.com? Is there a 'best' in this genre?

I know you were being serious and I probably should have thanked you for the answer but the idea is that I put in a job on one of these websites and then local plumbers will get back to me. We live opposite ends of the earth in London terms.
I also need to have an asbestos tank removed which will no doubt add to the costs (unless I do it at 3am one morning ;))
Also, how big was your boiler? Don't you have 3br place? We only have 1br so boiler cost would be less maybe? -

Our plumber came from your neck of the woods- he had to leave very early to get here, he's a mate of Diggers, hence why we used him.
Asbestos tank- where is it? Does it have to be disturbed or can you just leave the fucker where it is?

Just eat it

Worcester Bosch 30 Ci I think ours was, seemed to be a decent spec, and it has a 5 year warranty which I think the 28 didn't, so worth the small additional cost.

Ah, that sucks- no chance of getting gas at all?
Although, that said- you can do everything yourself in that case I would think, maybe with some help from Diable.

Be prepared for men in space suits to take over your flat for around a week, and then voila! A cupboard.

Shouldn't need a re-wire though should it? I don't know though, worth checking.
Running pipes and plugging in a leccy boiler should be a piece of cake

DIY for me = do something I enjoy and am actually good at that pays money then pay someone to do stuff I want done but don't enjoy. If I could get someone to clean my bikes and wipe my arse I'd be set for life.
3K, we just had that done.
Next question?
