ye, but there is not much written about the bike(aside from the technical specifications). the textbox just talks about choosing the right gear for every situation is important and that 15 different gears will give you a lot to choose from.
your model is supposed to have 10 gears and is classified as a training bike.
about the specs:

First two things to do;

• Look at the mech and fixing section. There's a sticky with recommended websites/videos. I think this is a great introduction, but have a general look through them all.
  
• Read Sheldon Brown to fill in the gaps.
  
  

With that frame, I'd use swept back bars like the North Roads (which are cheap), and go for 700s with big tyres to fill up the clearances (prob 32c). If you want some 27" rims, I have some nice classic looking 36h NOS ones. That way you'll end up with a cool crusing style bike.

Also bear in mind that it isn't an amazing frame, so keep the cost of parts in perspective.

I have read Sheldon Brown so I've probably filled the gaps before I knew what they were.

I am in two minds about the frame TBH. On one hand a small frame with a long seat post, MTB stem and the North Road bars would be more akin to the MTB riding positions I'm used to (albeit with a different hand position).

On the other hand it isn't a brilliant frame and it might prove too small for what I really end up desiring from a fixie road hack.

I have maybe let the fact that it was free cloud my judgement and make me want to use it.

£25 total on planet x, new stem bar and tape. 3ttt stem and bar, Morpheus seems to be a perfect choice for me and for just £9!

Planet-x frame arrived today. It looks so small! Having doubts about the size of it.

My first attempt at a fixed gear conversion was with a road frame with a wide wheel base similar to the one you have. It never really worked out properly and I would not try it again. Pedal strike and not very responsive steering being the main issues.

However, if the frameset has an OK weight, say less than 3.5 kgs, it could make a nice relaxed single speed. I second the above advice about mustache bars. Don't spend money on powder coating and decals.

Sizing Notes
All frame size recommendations are approximate. A good fit will also depend on the correct choice of stem length, correct bike set-up for the rider and riding style.

Correct frame size choice can vary greatly with riders' torso length. If you have longer legs and a shorter torso, go for a slightly shorter stem. If you think you are borderline between sizes, and you have longer legs and a shorter torso, go for the smaller frame size. If you have shorter legs and a longer torso, go for the larger frame size to get the extra top tube length.

So that's what I've done, as I'm about 5'6"/5'7" with a shorter upper torso. Still, a medium pompino seems to work relatively well...

Anyhow, now I need stem/bars/chainset/brakes/front mech/brake and shifter cables to complete the build. Next payday...
