Cornie, 14 what do you expect from the spuds this season? We all agree last year was a one off, I mean even Leeds took a holiday in Europe. But what would you be happy with?
Greasy, I'm looking for a decent cup run, in the Europa, which I think we should be looking to get to the quarter finals, probably the semi's, if 'Arry takes it seriously. If he doesn't a good go in the FA Cup, and a massive go for a Champions League spot.
I think we have a good chance of getting into the Champions League spots, because the competition is going to be fierce between the four above us and it's about how many points you take from the clubs 9th and lower which is going to determine the league.
Admittedly turning over the sides below us isn't something we do on a regular basis, but we got fifth last season with both of out main strikers scoring 4 league goals each. IF they are still with us, I expect them to get more than that...
But probably what will happen is we'll slump to 8th/9th, 'Arry will bemoan the fact he didn't get to spend lots of cash, or everyone else has spent too much cash, and that playing in the Europa cup was a waste of space and we get turned over by either arsenal or man u in the FA Cup, and I don't mean the final either....
@ Clint.
I've enjoyed the success for Spurs over the last half a dozen years, more than can be adequately explained, but enjoying a teams success, after many failed attempts at solidifying a top rank, doesn't mean that you can't aspire to more.
At the end of the day I'm not going to call for 'Arry's head, but he's raised expectations now he has to grow a pair and continue to produce the goods. He's backed by the board, has a decent/good squad, he needs to make the most of it, by adjusting his tactics, playing players who are in form, rotating when they aren't and generally show he's the man who can make us viable Premiership contenders, and not pretenders...
