Very easy and very quick if you have oversized bars.
Sorry, I'm running 26mm bars. I'll be on the 80s roadie next week due to not being able to get comfortable on the Plug.

Few (shit) pics from the other night.
Jonny with all the tools, including the ever important leaf.
Everyone happy at just after midnight.
Belting along at 5am on the road that sits below the New Devizes White Horse in Wiltshire.
Some hills just outside Devizes.
More hills around Devizes. Scene of the grotesque DP.
Canal viaduct at Avoncliff, just outside Bradford-on-Avon.
Taking in the scenery at Avoncliff on top of another viaduct.
The view from the top of the viaduct.
A bridge over the canal just outside Bath. Amazing reflections.
Sadly I took no pics of the cafe at breakfast!

Are you definitely doing the route in reverse? I'll need confirmation, as I don't think I'll make the later train even, so will travel solo to Chingford, and then try to catch up before you finish; and then ride back to Chingford. No big drama if I fail to make contact with the mothership.
Hope my brain can reverse the route in situ…
BTW, Chingford has now had barriers installed, so it's not the safe bunk option it once was for the fare-evading scum who are part of our number.

I don't think I've still got the adaptor things for 26mm bars.
Shim it with an inner tube and some electrical tape (aim for 40mm dia. as it'll compress) if you still want to borrow the light.
-
• #3310
reverse yep. you'll be on us in no time
-
• #3311
Don't know about that. Probably 20h15 @ Chingford, then 14 miles to Roydon on a fixie-wixie - I could be an hour behind you all by that point. Then I'll get lost trying to do it in reverse :/
Wot*evaz.

Okay, so I've never done a TNRC before, but am interested in getting out during the week more. Jonny mentioned the Roydon route is usually good for first timers, and when I looked at the route posted, I've actually done a lot of it before on my way to Cambridge.
So my questions are:
train from where and what time?
rough estimate of usual pace? (I don't want to hold everyone up)
estimate of train time home?
does anyone have an extra bright light in case I can't get one together in time?thanks!

Liv St. about 19.30
15 / 17mph av.with a slightly quicker little burn back to the train in the final 10 miles. (but no-one gets left behind)
10.48 if we're on time.
I may have a light to loan. -

No probs STE5, I'll have the bars shimmed up to 40mm and ready to go. Thanks again.

Suffering some knee tweak after a long ride on Saturday, so will exercise discretion this time I'm afraid. Out.

Fuck me, if you're all getting that train, I'm never going to catch up. Oh well, it's nice to have a 'virtual bunch' up the road. Trains home from Chingford are also fubared after 22h40, so I'll be riding all the way home. Going to be a 'fun' 75ish miles :/
-
• #3322
BMMF - Glad to keep you company for the catch group.
But I'm not sure I like the idea of 75miles on a Tuesday night, so might bail at Royden on the way home.
