Audiophiles hifi appreciation thread old and new

I recall people using spikes to jack speakers off the ground - reckon this would help reduce noise heading towards neighbours?

It depends how the flat is built but I would have though a direct coupling to the fabric of the building would exacerbate the noise. (it's mainly the lower frequencies which cause problems)

It would make your speakers sound better though.
