I am going to get a new bike paid by insurance and a condition is that all parts will be sourced from BLB. The BLB guys practically insist that I get a custom made frame, and I might as well seeing as the insurance is paying. I'll take any advice you might have on custom frames, but the first issue is tubing and the compromise between strength and lightness.
My main concern regarding strength is that since this will be my daily ride I will leave it locked up with a d-lock in all sorts of places. It does happen that people try to shuffle around your locked bike which can make your lock dent the tubing. I've seen it happen on other people's bikes.
Apart from that I only need a 52cm frame and I am not very heavy myself so I presume that allows for fairly light tubing when it comes to actual riding.
