I need a bottom bracket cable guide for a colnago c96. I got a campag one and the screws too big. Tried all sorts of sizes before reading that's it's probably a press fit cable guide. Both the shimano and campag cable guides that are everywhere have screws.
Anyone know where I can get a press in one?

I usually get decent bite (with modulation) if I use the washers which put the arms parallel with the rim at the point at which the pads touch. Loosen bolts, squeeze brakes so that pads sit correctly in the middle of the braking surface, semi-tighten bolts, wiggle them a little to get some toe in* (or stick a bit of card at the rear of each pad when clamping them against the rim), then hold pads tight in your hand whilst torquing up the bolts. Roughening pads with emery board/sandpaper helps too, which you probably know.
If your levers have an adjustable setting for modulation, I always had best results with the least spongy setting, and relied on deftness of touch instead.
*not too much

PS. If the pads are worn, make sure you cut off any lip (from braking surface overhang) with a knife. -

Take it to a metal worker/engineer type person and have it tapped.

^^ I got everything right apart from the toe-in. The pads are worn but I cleaned them up before getting rid of the judder.
Thanks

My wife is thinking about getting a Charge Mixer 11 (I think, possibly 8). It has a Shimano Alfine hub gears, from photos it looks like the cable doesn't enter the hub at the end of the axle as I've seen on Sturmey Archer hubs.
She wants to be able to use the bike on the turbo trainer, would this be a problem with the hub gears, assuming I can mount it properly?

Putting milk in the cup before tea.. what's with that? It's like russian roulette

The only time I can see it being right is when you're properly ocd. Weighing the tea, timing the brew etc. My brother-in-law does this with his coffee

i run out of hands trying to hold bits of card in place, pull brake lever and wiggle the brake pad into alignment
so use a rubber band around the brake pad to set the toe in, (a big flat one, tie a loop in it and the put it on the rear of the pad)

An initial drop of milk prevented it.
So I heard.

I've been told it's more about the milk heating up slower and not not curdling as you drop cold milt into boiling water.

my understanding is
its that if you pour milk into a cup of hot water it is likely to get scalded
but if you pour tea from a pot into a cup containing the milk the temperature of the milk is more gently elevated, saving it from being scalded
