I am trying to upgrade the firmware of my camera, put a new freshly formatted SDHC card in, connected it to my pc, but when I try to drag the .bin file on to the memory cards root folder it says its copy protected. I have not locked the card on the external switch, and there aren't any obvious security setttings on the camera that I can see that are enabled. Any ideas?
"Any ideas ?" Mine would be for you to supply as many clues as you can as to your camera make, model, operating system (etc).
You could simply tell us what camera you have, but if it's a secret then some hints and clues would go along way, maybe start with the manufacturer if you don't want to go the whole way on a first date.
I could set about telling you about an anomaly with the Canon 550D when trying to upgrade the firmware, but I might be wasting my time typing it out in detail as you might not have a 550D (then again you might) . . . who knows ?
