Could it be that they sent you the wrong colour?

finally finished setting up mtb hack for polo. brakes need tweaking.
Looks slacker than it really is, but yeah... it ain't perfect.

• #48654
nah, i already own a brown and a black and it's definitely different just suprised that the difference isn't more severe - my iphone pic does make it look more brown than in real life

Can't help with the homemade ones, but a cheaper alternative to the Paul one is the Superstar one, £17!
Cheers dude. Need a seat tube mounted one, but the same site has one. That'll do!
-
• #48656
i think it was the scoble that made one

I need a chain guide for my MTB as I'm running single front ring.
Seen the Paul's one discussed on this thread, but think there was also talk of some
home made ones from reflector brackets (maybe) Can someone point me in the direction
of the conversation please.

Found this in my shed. It says Campagnolo on the drop outs, does this mean it's a Campagnolo frame??
I wanna make it into a singlespeed/fixie. What are some good wheels for about £100 a pair? -
• #48659
it's bad ass joel... it uses campagnolo dropouts and could be made by pretty much anyone, maybe hilary could name it for you but i've not a clue
nice fancy lugs and the pump pegs and external brake routing suggest it's reasonably old
polish up that chrome nice and buy some wheels from on-one (not deep section!)

Toying with the idea of upgrading my cranset. I'm liking the idea of getting an external bb system for stiffness. What is the difference between the sram s300 crankset and a standard road bike set? Are they just repackaged for "track"
It would be cheaper to get a used road crankset and new chainring than a new set which I would change the ring on anyway.
-
• #48661
proper chainline and single ring only - the S300 is a brilliant crankset for the money and the 48t it comes with doesn't need replacing unless you really feel the need
-
• #48662
I've got some s300's they're great, only thing that I didn't like was that they came with a 3/32 chainring, but thats not a massive issue though.
-
• #48663
So it'll be tough to get a decent chainline with a road crankset with just single ring on it? I'm not too fussed about having an empty chainring slot.
Oh and the s300's are for a standard threaded english bb? I'm very tempted, the cheap zenith cranks I've got are not stiff.
-
• #48664
s300's would make a nice replacement for some Stronglight track 2000's I have on my pompino. Tempted...
-
• #48665
Yep threading is the same.

finally managed to get an old peugeot.......
Question: were cinelli bars/stems ever fitted to peugeot races bikes (so I can justify removing the uncomfortable bars/stem and replace with comfortable 1A + giro's)
maybe this is a problem: *"Designed for external bottom brackets.", *maybe not
