  • idk about those companies ethics, but Levis is much bigger- therefore must shoulder more responsibility.

  • The new 2011 July Levi's new product line , the COMMUTER jeans

Best diving boots for mountaineering, anyone?

  • I was under the distinct impression that most of the Levi's worn in this country are actually made in Scotland.

I don't see that as unethical.

American Apparel on the other hand...

  • seem alright like.

most of the jeans these days are made in Asia / latin American countries where levis wont sign a declaration of fair living wage for the workers :(
I don't think that would wash in Scotland, but in 3rd world countries...

  • I don't think that would wash in Scotland,

You've clearly never been to scotland...

  • All my Levi's jeans were made in Turkey and Wrangler in Poland. Hardly unethical.

  • You've clearly never been to scotland...

  • Just saying... I understand your sentiments, but not everythings is always black & white.

  • By the way, we don't call the 3rd world countries. We call them developing nations.

  • Or emerging markets for that proper Thatcherite ring!

  • I'm sure China overshadows other markets already :-)

  • They look good. Given that they are basically the same i think everyone should stick to buying the swrve/rapha/howies versions and keep the smaller companies going.

  • So is Scotland a developing nation or a third world country?

  • It has that feel.

    #frankieboyle

  • ok maybe there's a few levis plants in Europe that don't fit into the unethical slot but they have developing nation plants that are sweatshops!

prolly the only good thing is that they havent been found to use child labour.

  • I have three pairs coming over from the US. 30, 32 & 34.

I might throw a speculative dibs on the 34's (price dep for the tightarse etc)

  • are honda ethical?

  • Honda are highly ethical - they are brilliant and innovative.

  • I'd still buy an Audi or BMW over a Honda.

Damn you, Harrong. I wanted 34s.

  • Audi is a good company, same with VW, but honda manages to pip past em on manufacturing environmental initiatives.

    BMW on the otherhand..not gut

  • if I say I like them, can I get as much as you get for posting that?

    lol

  • Slightly OT but does the rapha sample sale tend to have new stock each day?

Yes I think so. Rapha thread poots >>>>>

    See you there!
