I wouldn't even says that the CXP33 is light (compare to the Open Pro especially), but they are pretty stiff.
I figure the little extra stiffness, and aeroness is worth the little extra weight, as I ride the fixed out f town (ie. not so stop/start). There's probably feck all in it, really though.
Not much in it at the wheel rim with the build listed ..
CXP33 quoted 470g + Veloplugs 5g = 475g
Open Pro 435g + Velox rim tape 16g (which I've assumed you'd use?) = 451g
or put it another why the difference between an open pro and a KinLin XR-200 rim
I'm a little too big boned to be using XR-200 on what is essentially a training bike :(
I used those same hubs for my last wheel build. The cone lock nuts cracked after 40 miles. Perhaps keep an eye on them.
Cheers, I'll keep that in mind. I dismantled the old hubs for spares. So hopefully I have the bits to replace and failiures.
Good to know though.
I was dreading the build because I was using Thaiwans answer to DT Revolutions. Which I've struggled with in the past. But the spokes tensioned up so easily, that I took the verniers to them, out of disbelief.
