Just out of interest, is the cost of eurotunnel cheaper for bikes than cars?
-
• #1529
can you put the swingarm in your oven?
Yes...... If I want to be injured, homeless and divorced.

I have just bought this ...
The Translap is one of the nicest all rounders out there. I did the bulk of the South Downs Way, when it was still open, on one, couriered for 18 months, and got from the Pyrenees to Cherbourg in eleven hours. Loved it.

I quite like them, I think you need an aerostitch all in one in either white or engineering blue and a plain white helmet to complete the look though.
B.
Paint it yellow and put a wheel rack on the back.

Which one was it? The 600? The 650?

A 1987 600, just like the picture, but silverer.

Nice! I really wanted one of the early ones, as opposed to the stodgier new ones. I like the idea of having something I can tinker with and learn about and on. And do some mileage if necessary

Anyone got an expanding bearing puller that can go down as far as 32mm? I need one to fit inside the bearing race on my swinging arm to pop them out, so the claws need to be on the outside.
Expanding bolt? Gimme a shout and we can look at a few ways to get the bearing out.

Cheers Lynx 36x18 has a suitable puller and we're hopefully meeting later this week.

I have to agree the first one is not as romantic...

Ooh that reminds me, I must remember to find out how to put my alarm into Ferry mode.
(I believe that makes it sing "Avalon" instead of sounding a siren.)

even though i was expecting it ,,,,, it still made me chuckle :-)
one piece or two piece is my dilema.
-
• #1547
Two piece. Your bike doesn't go with a 1 piece. Besides, you want to access pockets, have a pee etc. 2 pieces are just easier. And less pervy.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/travelnews/5795480/British-tourists-warned-over-damaging-French-fuel.htmlI've checked and none of our bikes are compatible with SP95-E10
Does anyone know if british cards work in French petrol stations yet? They never used to.

Haven't bought petrol but I've been working over there and bought quite a bit with cards.
Suggest carrying several different cards anyway.
