yeh good point about rolling backwards, also its Ste! and my steamroller was £200
The "teeth" where the two sound bits should transfer some of that force to the other bolt(axle puller?) so that may help limit any rotation. Could stick a ziptie or padded jubilee clip round the stay if you want to be certain.

I think they turn better. I've tried both John Eggpie's and Ali's small pomps with double 700s and I found the stearing to be quite heavy and swoopy.
I've had three sets of forks on my Pompino, granted it's a large, none of them changed the fact it turns like a truck.

Quick question as I am preparing my bike for this weekends polocatepl tournament in munich:
Does a double brake lever in any ways help on slippery courts? Barcelona was the first time I played on a slippery surface and I kept losing the wheels as did my whole team, so I´d like to avoid that this time...
Any other advice for more grip on slippery surface?
Let your tyres down and loosen off the front brake if you are wiping out when turning and braking.

Mis read the question ... let your tyres down, learn to drift

You mean "Let someone else's tyres down"

Speak to Ali, he's running 26 on a Pompetamine.
Hypothetical question:
If one was to take a small pompino frame, re braze 26" bosses, change fork for 26", would this be a sweet polo bike? -

Thoughts on these? Is 4130 less strong than double butted 4130? I don't want to google double butted at work...
-
• #5811
21" is pretty huge for a mtb, no?
-
• #5812
it's a 53cm, not that huge, but i also don't think it's for 26" wheels. It says it has a 120mm rear spacing
-
• #5813
Yer I know what butted is but not double butted. Extra thick butting? ew.
26's have 130 spacing?Back to the drawing board then. Meh.
-
• #5814
i'm sure there are 26's with 120mm spacing, it's all about the spacing of the hub. But i imagine that as it's branded a "track" frame it would be 700c.

Yeah right, good point Captain.
Well if anyone sees a size 50 / 51 cm compact frame for 26's then I'm in the market for a lighter tighter polo machine.

Oh, Joni... Your bike's fine, babe, stop tinkering! ;P
-
• #5818
My bike is fine but I am old and knackered.
I love my pomp but it doesn't hurt to keep looking right?
Be nice to have something smaller and lighter.
#tinkergo alu?
i've always thought the Bianchi Camaleonte would make a wicked polo bike.
