My experience so far with a Mycro helmet is above average. The main thing I was concerned about was visibility and not wanting to cut bars out of an existing cage leaving burred edges etc. For that, the cage is brilliant, although the raw metal does sometimes pick up some gnarly reflections on our indoor court. The slightly cheap looking chinstrap held on with cable ties is relatively comfortable – however facial hair any longer than a finely kept goatee will make it pretty uncomfortable.
But... and it's a really big but... I have never ever sweated as much wearing a helmet in my life. Even when playing in the shade of the warehouse, after two or three fast paced games... unbelievable beads of sweat constantly rolling down my face which the face cage make pretty hard to wipe away. There are vents all over it and although the quirk of it being handmade is pretty nice, the padding (which isn't necessarily bulky, however it's made of quite cheap feeling squeaky polystyrene material) doesn't always line up with the vents and my god... Did I mention how sweaty it is?
