So many times I've talked up quorn for meat eaters, claiming it's just as good as meat. Oh how wrong I was.
That said, if you take it for what it is, and like you work in some flavours in it, it's actually quite good
it definitely has it's place, it's fairly cheap, it can be kept in the freezer so is easily on hand without the tedium of fully defrosting it as you would have to with real mince. I'd never say it was an ideal 'swap one for the other' substitute but as an alternative ingredient (much in the way you might replace chicken for prawns in a thai curry) it can be used to make perfectly good dishes that have their own merits/flavours.
