Arse!
Roy deserved it. But stage victories don't go to those who deserve most of the time..
He's been the most aggressive rider I've seen in a tour for a long time, everyday pretty much he's put the hurt on himself to try and get a stage win. I hope he does before this tour ends..

How did a sprinter win this stage?
Remember him sprinting away at the start of the climb! Must have just had a good feeling today. -

Great effort by Roy, epic ride, hats off

EBH slacked off a bit there....

I was just looking this up, but David Harmon beat me to it, that's the 6th consecutive Tour that Hushoved has won a stage in. Impressive stuff.

Clever people book time off to coincide with the tour ;)

I was wondering why I couldn't remember much of last year's tour compared to 2009, then I looked back at my calendar and saw I'd been working every day throughout the race. Had to change that shit for this year!

Roy deserved it.
I don't get this. Hoshovd was just as aggressive. Roy is a bit quicker uphill but Hoshovd is better downhill. As AndyP said, it's a bike race, not a testimonial. Attacking every day, rather than using your head and being selective, doesn't mean you deserve a stage.

+1. He was already having a great tour tactically. Now he has a magnificent stage win by simply out-riding everyone.
Is Voeckler now the favourite? Or is he expected to lose time from now on?

I like the fact that he's aggressive, he's got nothing to try for apart from the stage win, Thor's worn yellow, won the green jersey. Roy is in it for the glory of the stage win, there's nothing else. Obviously he has the king of the mountains jersey now, but he keeps getting closer and closer with each attempt, so my love for the underdog and someone whose going to race with his heart rather than his head means I want him to get that stage win..

Well, that's the curse of the rainbow jersey well and truly chewed up and shat out.
What a fucking win.
No-one saw that coming at the start of the day.
This Tour is turning into a real vintage edition.

Roy has been so exciting this tour - along with Voeckler its been great watching people really ride themselves into the ground. He must have been in 4 or 5 breaks now - imagine riding the tour, let alone having to ride outside of the peloton for so many stages - the man totally deserves it. Wouldn't surprise me if he got the combative jersey.
