Hurrah! Thanks for this, my wife is away at the moment so I'm free and could do with trying some hills out on fixed... Is anyone else on fixed or are most geared?

  • andyp has first dibs, in giro colours £ 50

    http://www.burls.co.uk/shop/puky-z2-p-984.html

you can tell they did a lot of market research for this when the brand of the bike is 'Puky', although I think they forgot the 'e'.

  • Was just about to come and sign up but I see my work is already done for me.

  • I'll be on 45x17 fixed - it's easier for me to moderate/modulate the group tempo with a direct drivechain. I expect middleofnowhere and smiff will also be sans derailleur at the very least.

As there are TNRC virgins coming along, it'll be one of those stay-behind-the-leader rides (freewheelers please use your brakes appropriately on descents and downwards drags), but people can let loose on the short climbs if they wait at the top/the first junction thereafter.

    Sorry.

I've managed to get the afternoon off work, which means Hillingdon for me.

This TNRC's a great route, and the start list looks ideal.

yup, will be on fixed as usual. this ride is ideal for it.

looking forward to getting back out there.

  • Will ride my old bike which will slow me down.
maybe you can chuck your bidons about too if you need extra slowing down.

  • maybe you can chuck your bidons about too if you need extra slowing down.

I've got all new cages now dude, no more porno-like spraying of bidons. Looking forward to having you back again Joe.

  • yup, will be on fixed as usual. this ride is ideal for it.

looking forward to getting back out there.

how's the recovery going joe? you back to full strength?
need to sort that night run but i am super busy through august.

  • bmmf - you happy with the numbers and train sitch?

  • Yeah. If there's 14, we might as well all pile on the first train, though I'd need an agent to procure my GS4, as I won't be able to get there before 7.10pm.

  • Toying with coming, don't know how wise this is as I'm quite ragged after DD. Will decide tomorrow according to how I'm feeling.

nearly back to 100%. just need to get some miles in now.

maybe look at a date in late aug or early sep? need to do it before it gets too cold...
