Strange happenings with rear hubs seem pretty common on Mavics. But there are so many of them on the road, perhaps that's unfair. Broken spokes less of a problem.
I've ridden my Askiums through 3 winters. I'm only 60kg but they get ridden at night on shitty roads, so they've taken a their fair share of punishment. I've never broken a spoke, and I've only trued the front once – that's it.
