I was running 48/17 (74.2 GI & 17 skid patches) up until a couple of weeks ago. Found myself getting uncomfortable around 30/35 for any long period of time.
Changed to 46/15 (80.6 GI & 15 skid patches) now which is a lot more comfortable at higher speeds for longer periods, although maybe not the best on the daily commute.
I plan on getting a 16T cog to swap out if I know I'll be doing more climbs, or even for my daily commute. That'll give me 75.6 GI and still 8 skid patches.
