It takes a couple of weeks for shoes to become comfortable anyway IMO
I have a couple pairs of NW aerlites. One brand new, and one well used. You can feel the suitable difference in the footbed where the wooden last has deformed.
I not sure how many shoes employ a wooden last though. You pay a weight penalty for it.
