What, realistically, would be the problem/s with replacing a 1" quill stem and fork set up on an old steel classic, with a 1" threadless + carbon fork setup?Would there be any benefits?
Problem 1: The scorn of the forum from the inevitable anti-porn post of your bike and the accusations of puppy-killing from the "porn-oratti" who think all nice bikes should look no newer than 1985.
Problem 2: 1" carbon forks are not so easy to find - most stuff is 1 1/8" now days but there are some older CX forks made for 1"
