Ok....so it's your better half then I guess? :]

infinitely better 3/4 might be the way to explain

If anybody with a smallish frame wants a free partial frame bag to carry their tools and tubes and wine gums in, I have a spare one now...free to a good home as I made a slightly bigger one for me.
Saves you stuffing everything in your pockets. In an attempt at chivalry, I would like to concede my claim on said frame bag and recommend that you pass it on to Alex :-)

thank you for the act of chivalry, will save me lugging her stuff around (now ducks and covers)

F*** look at the time. You're all bad influences. I only woke up as I realised my mother's cat had pissed in my bed so had to migrate to my sister's room.

Tis true - I wanted to punch the cat

if anyone needs route directions (i.e. a very elaborate cue sheet) for the way back let me know (it's an essay, but you can edit it down). I take no responsibility for it being wrong though

160miles solo in the rain. Given the absence of any uplifting company, I am now going to spend this evening using google street view to mark up my map with decent looking bus shelters to take breaks in. Good chance the only thing dry when I get to the beach will be my travel towel. Probably not worth it at this point.
OneLessCardigan, save the PBP rep until I've done it, 90hours is a long time to fuck up a bike ride in.

You also have cross winds to deal with, at least the wind will be pushing us along.
Good Luck but wouldn't it be easier to nip to Skeggy and back? -

Training for PBP
Tribute to Barry Mason
Seeing people in DunwichEasy isnt the point. If I wanted easy I would stay at home and go out for a five mile ride on a sunny day before settling in for the night with a mug of Horlicks and a grumble mag.
Adventure isn't about easy, it's about challenge and reward.

Mind you, if anyone fancies an overnight jolly from Sheff to Skeggy later this year, I'd be glad to lead that ride. Parts of that are quite nice.

Next year (if the weather is nice): http://www.aukweb.net/events/detail/11-115/
Not sure I want to be in Lincolnshire after dark, someone might mistake me for their sister and, well I'm sure you've heard the rumours. -
• #1544
Good luck for the ride!

The more I'm reading what people are taking the more I want to try and fit everything in my jersey pockets. I'll have a look tomorrow night and try to cram it all in.

spenceey, ultralight tour FTW!
Frankly a good saddlebag and/or handlebar bag would be more than enough for the duration of the DD.
By the way I got a Carradice racktop bag I'm selling for £12;
Came with it's own rain cover too, new cost something like £25-30.
Anyone fancy it for the DD? got a Super C to replaced it already.

Well I've got my saddle bag (specialized wedge) which will hold about 1.7 litres, that's enough space for phone,money,2x inner tubes and multi tool.
That then leaves me with somewhere to fit my pump and food/ arm+ leg warmers. I don't think I'll be able to fit that all in my jersey some how.

framebag perhaps?
-
• #1549
They don't look big enough for food + pump (pocket rocket)

Have we decided on what colour our glow sticks should be?!?! :-D
