i got a call from the ship at dunwich today also confirming they are opening for breakfast however it's from 7am not 6am, and a full english will be £12.50. drinks likely. they can seat 100 people as well they said (not sure if that's all at once but hopefully it is)

Have they opened this early before? It would be slightly surprising if they hadn't, but I've never heard about it.

Will be riding on this. Yes it's geared but this close to PBP I won't ride anything else. No I'm not riding back either but there are two things that I think entering PBP covers the HTFU.

Will have a Carradice stuffed with spare clothes, food, nuun tablets and tools (except the one on the saddle). As I'm riding solo from Sheffield, if you spot someone riding in a bright orange Norton Wheelers jersey on the beach, feel free to come up and call me a fscking cnut.

if you are using an iphone GPS and want to sync Jack's map to it you can get Everytrail Pro and download all the maps offline. worked quite well last year

i'm a little worried about the fuel stop - will they have enough for the horde of zombie cyclists heading toward the sea?

They'll probably run out of food and the service will be really slow, but give it a few years and I'm sure they'll iron out the teething problems.

I'll post a pic of my bike tomorrow, once my bottle cages arrive...can't have it missing them. :]

Bet there's a thread for this.. oruxmaps for android is pretty good. Fully offline maps so you can run the phone in aeroplane mode and save battery. Should go all the way.

I think you can import .gpx into google maps. You need a google account to save it though. I'm looking for an offline mapping solution for the iPhone to preserve battery life. Anyone know how to do this?

not on google maps. you can't do offline google maps & you won't get a 3G signal out there or even an EDGE data signal in some spots.

it's the only one that i've found that does offline maps, get the open midnight maps as you'll mostly need it in the dark. (easier to see)

the app has a few bugs but overall is useful and got us there last year
