Back in the 60s most fixed lens compact had decent sharp glass. There was no such thing as bad optics, only cheaper plastic rangefinder bodies.

I've decided to make my film comeback, and its going to be on a Yashica Electro 35GT. I'm stalking some now on ebay. But does anyone have one they want to sell me?
