We're second! SKY have tipped themselves over the 100 mark!
-
• #254
Ooops haven't logged my miles this week.

• #255
Not just second, a comfortable second. Story of my life.

How many of our team are doing the Dunwich Dynamo? Will we still be able to enter these miles?
-
• #257
I thought someone mentioned the challenge finishes the day before Dunwich?
-
• #258
Yep - finishes on the 15th.
-
• #259
Oh well.

Sky haven't gone over the 100, they have exactly 100 and I presume a membership request pending. Given they haven't accepted the request (and it's been nearly 24 hours) they could still reject it and drop back into the 50-100 leagues.
Sneaky buggers or I'm overly paranoid...

If you are going to bandy accusations about like that about sky it may be worth changing the pin on your voice mail so that it is not the default setting ;-)

Do pending requests count?
Can we all sign up multiple bogus accounts and apply to join SCR at the last minute to push them out of our category?
Shit. See what you lot have done? You've turned me into an overly competitive, dishonest, cunt. Or perhaps just brought out that latent tendency.

^that's an amazing idea, you devious bastard.
-
• #264
We'd get a shitload of points for ~25 new members in the next week, getting 50 miles in or something.
-
• #265
^ We would too but I like the fucking over of the of the opposition idea.

First commute in by cycle today, so I guess the Challenge worked for me. I suspect that on the way home I'm going to need to HTFU.

In the end I decided to set myself a target of 1000 miles, and having just nudged over 900 after today's ride, I think it's do-able by Friday. It's been quite a challenge (well, the clue was in the name, I suppose), as I don't commute any substantial mileage, and usually find long rides a little tedious; furthermore, I've notched up a lot of saddle time either on my own (6.30am starts to be back for family lunchtime), or on the rivet around Regents Park, so I appreciated the company on 55 of today's miles, and whilst thrashing my Brompton around the North Downs on Tuesday night in the post-deluge dampness. It's also been a challenge monitoring my energy levels and injury risk hotspots, and I feel like I've learnt a lot.
94 to go…
Are we going to get ~30 late sign-ups to give us the valuable newbie points? [/obligatory competitive content]

what are you on about? in a nutshell...

No idea. Burnt out.
I'll join. I'm an occasional lurker here finally signing up. I'm just back from touring in the Highlands. Sadly the first week was before the challenge started but I've still got 799 points...
