Awesome win. Particularly good after the silly 10 points penalty yesterday and missing points in the intermediate sprints.
Good to see all those Brits high in the GC too.

hard hard day, thomas voeckler, and jeremy roy, deserve medals for that break, worked so hard, for so little...
They were a joy to watch. Really working well and seriously shifting at points.

Watching it now on ITV. Sherwen and Ligget, fml, I had forgotten how bad they are.

How many different ways to pronounce "Roy"?
We've had Wa, Woowee, Rah, Wah, Woo and probably a few others, yes he's French but you're not. Just fucking say "Roy" it's OK. -

I thought Swift was going to 'ave it when he went out early but it didn't happen. Soon....

It was. In the first interview (right after the race) he seemed genuine and quite happy. Impressed with everyone else, as well as please with himself. Almost likeable. Then he reverts back into cocky Cav once he's caught his breath.
totally. man's a beast. really not easy to like though.

Chris Boardman has tweeted..
If UCI want to look at safety, might want to think about reducing rim depths in high wind?Perhaps the riders should take some responsibility for once, and not ride deep section carbon rims on windy days.
They really are like children sometimes.

Anyone know where I can see today's stage highlights? ITV4 don't appear to have them available, what's that all about?
-

cavs gormless vacant face while waiting to be interviewed was priceless, that sprint must have really wiped him out.

yeah it's a great system, what happens is that they don't put up the highlights until the following day, buy which time, the next stage is underway and you've invariably accidentally found out who won the previous one... aaaand repeat.

Highlights on Eurosport at 10.

@ Arducius highlights show of Stage 5 is up now on ITV Player

It was EBH not Swift who jumped with 800m left. Think Cav was moaning about having no train friendly last kms... Doesn't seem to matter to him though! I think he needs to moan to get psyched. It worked today.

I just watched it on ITV Player; cut off a couple of times but at least they miss the advert breaks. Is on there from about 9pm I think.

You mean the tacit unifying dislike of the man would've meant the resulting eerie silence amongst the peloton would've persisted irrespective of nasty incidents.
Armstrong was the personification of a tumbleweed. A dishonest and exploitative tumbleweed.
Never realised that he was scouse. Does explain a lot though,,,

Yesterday in the finish Phil L decided that 5ft 4inch 50kg Columbian climbing monkey Rigoberto Uran was actually 6 foot blond Scandy Eddy Boss. Surreal.

And your point is? Aren't all real cyclists' calves like that?
Just me and Sean Yates then...
the first week 'traditionally' contains a few flat finishes for big bunch gallops so cav's having a whinge about that. however he loves being the put-upon underdog. (and we've been reminded that cav can win when it gets scrappy as well.)
