  • Idler wheels removed, cleaned, surfaces on idler body also cleaned. Dog leg screw done up then backed off a turn as per videos, cable tension adjusted to tightest setting after moving shifter inboard on bars (spring is taking up loads of tension in latter half of lever actuation, so definitely tight enough.

    I'm going to try loosening off the dogleg screw a few more turns (it's a looooong thread, as you will know). Limiter screws backed way off so that rotating plate thing hits the end of its possible movement before even hitting the screws.

    Sigh.
