Usually are, some saddle feel comfortable straight out of the box, but after a good 10 miles, it start to get uncomfortable.
it can take quite a bit of time finding the idea saddle that doesn't inflame your bits, so ask around the forum if they have any saddle that they can lend out, I did the same before resorting to the Fixik Aliante, not perfect (doing a 589km ride tomorrow!!!), but insofar with bibs short I think I'll be fine.
