The saddle farce before the TTT was ridiculous too.
'you're going to push our bikes up against a plastic billboard, and judge their legality?'
-
• #328
Yeah, what's a little more discomfort during a 3-week race..
Flat saddles => get fucked UCI
-
• #329
Lets not start the worlds most boring discussion. But what the fuck is the definition of a flat saddle??????.
along the centre of a Flite?
from sitbone area to nose of a SLR?

Reckon it might be a stage for a break-away today. Omega Pharma-Lotto may be the only ones really chasing for the stage victory, then again, my predictions thus far in fantasy cycling have been waaay off.

that intermediate points disqualification thing was a farce, I was expecting proper handbags, but it was just a minor push with the head, and they hadn't even commenced to sprinting..
Big thumbs up to the tractor bike thing, was amazing, sat in the c&h with the other monday slackers and was delighted to see the effort gone in for the race and the helicopter..
Also disappointed with the lack of coverage of the devil, it seems he has fallen very far from grace, all you get is the odd long shot of the yellow trident as the peloton flies past...
if someone can pop up a good feed of the tour, will grab it, I'm in work for the next two weeks, and I'd rather have it on in the background than anything else..

The commissaires were making a point on the intermediate sprints, they are on narrower roads than the finish and any transgressions will not be tolerated. Yesterday was their first opportunity to lay down the law, it's like a ref booking someone for the first bad foul of a football game, it's all about the tone.
The Devil's demise came about when he started getting sponsored and French TV decided not to give air time to his non-Tour sponsors. Having stood next to him, just be thankful smellovision is a fantasy.

or ITV4 which is live and perfectly free and legal.
-
• #335
The ITV4 coverage is actually OK I think...is Euorpsport much better/worth buying for the month?
-
• #336
The footage will be the same from the host broadcaster..
-
• #337
Euorosport is way better. although the Sidi ad is bad, there are hardly any ad breaks. Commentary is far better, and more informed too.
Anyone who has Sky should be able to stream Eurosport for free on Sky Player.

Unless they were told sepcifically to calm it down on the intermediate sprints it's looks even worse as Farrar and Hinault did exact same thing on the final sprint.

And even more evidence of how ever so slightly mental UCI have got; Pat McQ claiming chinese carbon frames worth £20 are making it onto £2.5k bikes and that QC and safety cannot be guaranteed all the way over there in those Asian factories.
Says frames are too light and bouncy compared to old steel like what he used to ride.http://www.bikebiz.com/news/read/light-composite-bikes-made-in-china-slammed-by-uci-execs/011462

have decided if I crash in the last 3k of my commute in I get the same time as the cunts who normally get in on time. as you were
I think you can only claim that if you started out with the c**ts who get in on time.
V much looking forward to getting home last night and catchin up with last nights highlights/drama and today's stage should be even more interesting in the wet. Apparently there's already been crashes (but only in the neutral zone)

Bikes have become too light. They're hopping all over the place; they jump when they hit potholes or whatever. They don't have the same reactions as when we had the old steel bikes. If we continue to reduce the weight [of bikes, these problems] will increase.
ahaha! So the difference between a steel bike and CF is much worse than the difference between either bike being ridden by, say Bert Grabsch or Andy Schleck.

No one ever crashed riding a steel bike. True FACT!

There's nothing quite so likely to make my blood boil than the topic of the UCI and bike design. Fucking incompetent imbeciles with no expertise or accountability

Anyone fancy it today? Am thinking about hitting that place on City Road for about 2.30-3pm... Any takers? I'll just hit the Effra otherwise...

Me too, though it's at number two of my "reasons to hate the UCI" list.

Go on then, which in their catalogue of errors is number one? I'm guessing at the total fucking up of the Olympic track programme in the name of gender equality?

who can explain to me what the breakaway group is all about? I have never seen a stage where it appeared to make much difference to the final result.

I think today is going to be between Gilbert, Evans and Voeckler. Voeckler will go early, but not sure he'll stay out there. He'll attack for sure.
Could be one for Vaconsoleil though. Favourites could be busy eyballing each other while a chancer takes off on a suicide mission. It happened a few times early in the Giro.
Last night's snack of choice - stilton and crackers with a bottle of Guinness. Oral moregasm.
I'll keep you posted on tonight's snack.
