Just finished my project, my grandad gave me his old Raleigh road bike and said I could do whatever I wanted to it. It looks great, I bought new front and back wheels, took my time on a rattle can paint job(turned out really good) and polished up any crome. Also removed any braze on's from when it was in geared state.
Can seem to get a picture to upload, any tips?

Upload it to Photobucket and then it's easy.

Nice Duell, Skully.
I just did a saddle swap for an SLR. I've always been keen to try one out and I'm amazed how good they are, padding is a little less than the classic flite I'm used to, but the support is in all the right places. Very pleased, as they look great and are feather light. Will strip it when it gets a bit more knacked to see how that compares. -

There is a decal on the offside that says 'Master'., was told circa '84 and
not all master have crimped tubes-must have been dazzled and took it.
will have to polish a lot ( -

Have you heard of oxalic acid? Might be a good cleaner. Can be found easily as wooden 'decking' cleaning fluid.

I'll keep my eyes out, cheers.
little bits of rust have corroded here and there, only just got it, will give it a proper scrub and assess the damage
I'm not sure about the 'master' sticker-never seen one with out 'crimps' -

Ta. I'm thinking of removing the decals. Nothing wrong with Surly, but they're a bit 'down with the kids' for my liking. Or is that mean on Surly?
No. They are q bit gash. If I were you I'd get the Surly Pacer decal set and replace with those. Much cleaner and more grown up looking IMO.
This one?
Do a kid!
Possibly a bit harsh.

i reallllyy want to get a rear wheel to match the front (h+son on goldtec) but i really cant afford it! what would be a cheeper alternative... like much cheeper, but with decent performance???
chain need to come off too! :S
