**Dear fellow cyclist, **
London cyclist Daniel Barnes is riding the Etape du Tour on 11 July in memory of his close friend Dan Cox, killed by a left-turning lorry at Dalston Junction in February 2011.
Dan will be raising money for LCC’s No More Lethal Lorries Campaign and the Intensive Care unit of the Royal London hospital.
LCC is flattered and delighted that half of all the money Daniel raises will be supporting our ongoing HGV appeal, and is asking LCC members to give generously via his webpage to help him reach his £3,000 target.
The No More Lethal Lorries campaign is raising the profile of HGV danger across London. LCC’s latest concern is around the Government’s proposal to allow vehicles with longer trailers on London’s streets.
LCC is asking for no more longer lorries in London. The Department for Transport’s consultation failed to fully assess the impact of these extra long lorries, and the increased risk to cyclists.
Please give generously on Dan’s webpage and help boost LCC’s campaign capabilities as well as supporting the Royal London Hospital. You can also pop down to his fundraising event this Saturday night at ‘Look Mum No Hands’
Just got this from the LCC
