so has the U2 tax thingy started/disrupted the gig?
Always makes me sigh how enthusiastic security get, give someone a uniform .....

dear mister bono: could you perhaps explain to us how spending your time pontificating about how countries should spend more money on aid whilst simultaneously ensuring that your own country has less to spend on anything by dodging taxes doesn't make you a hypocrite?
also - i notice no one was protesting fucking beyouncy for for trousering 5 million quid for playing at one of gaddaffis shindigs.
fucking festivals are shit by definition.
Fystival tho...
/stay tuned for details.

Bono/U2 are capitalists. Simple as that.

The flags sums up the worst people at Glasto for me. They go all that way, make their poxy flag (yeah well done, you're Irish, NOBODY'S IMPRESSED YOU BOG-BRAINED FUCK), then pitch up in front of the main stage ALL weekend.

I am a ruined man. That was a killer. Number 5 for me (thought it was 6) and the best one yet.
Musical highlights too numerous to mention. I wish people (especially those who have never been) would stop sniping about the headliners. You clearly just don't get the festival if you think the handful of headliners makes a blind bit of difference when you have 700 or so other bands playing.
Other highlights include bumping into Jo Whiley and Chris Martin in The Park last night. Hes a really nice and chatty chap. Whiley seemed a bit annoyed to be accosted by a stranger.
Queens of the Stoneage put on an amazing show last night. It was a shame that Schlomo and Kate Tempest didn't get a shot at a larger stage.

my favourites have been battles, warpaint, tv on the radio. would have liked to see london afrobeat collective, dj shadow, the walkmen, crystal castles, caribou and so many more if i'd actually been there!
i actually think the line up's been pretty strong this year, and i might choose to go the year after next.

^^^ DJ Shadow in the John Peel tent on Friday night was thoroughly awesome and my Glasto highlight. It also meant I didn't go see U2. To be completely honest, after that everything was a bit of a blur. I vaguely remember finally finding the Arcadia stage at some point and must have spent much time down there...

Some mates of mine played the Arcadia on saturday and they've all said it was fucking amazing.

Yeah I relented and went to U2 but really wished I had gone with Shadow.
Bono has no charisma. I thought they were a bit pants to be honest. I know others disagree though.
Best overall set was Likke Li I thought.

U2 liking is a good yardstick for whether or not it is worth pursuing any further conversation with someone.

I'm going, I think the line up looks pretty decent, I'm really looking forward to Womack on the Sunday evening.
Her ass-kissing intro on telly to the U2 set confirmed my suspicions about her quite firmly.
Watched a U2 few numbers and then thought to myself "fuck this" and started watching Dirty Harry on Channel 5.
