  • I'm using my dads tourer for a week whilst we are building up my audax bicycle at my mum and dads place, don't think I'd be able to keep up with you guys! Don't want to risk riding the fixed yet either.

  • Fridays are inclusive, come along and ride your own pace, nobody gets dropped for long.

  • You can keep me company at the back. I'm normally the droppee on Friday rides :)

  • What time we starting?
7pm would be good for me.

  • Afraid I'm out. It's not a Friday ride without a last minute cancellation.

  • Just got back from a conference in ldn. I am ruined!

  • If you weren't ruined on a Friday, I'd be worried.

  • Ha Ha. So next weekend what's say we go for a big run out? It's only 3 wekks till the DD

  • Haha. I recon i will still be hungover!

  • So how about we make it a bit different this weekend and have a Saturday ride out? I'm thinking leave early in the morning say 6/6.30 have a trip of around 80,90 (possibly more) then we should be back just after lunchtime/ early afternoon if we stop somewhere for food.

This should be early enough to not bugger up everyone's Saturdays and it'll be light when we leave so no need for lights.

I'll be doing this on Saturday and it would be great to have a few people to ride with.

  • Would you definitely turn up? Really definitely? 6.30 start is pretty early to end up with no-shows.

But I'm away this Saturday anyway.

  • I will be up for it. I need to get some more mileage in my legs for the DD.

Ha! The NVS forum has been a bit like that for a few months.

I'm up for it, keen to meet you guys! Will have to get the train at about 5.30am!

  • I need to plan a route, any ideas guys? Quiet roads?

  • Plumstead road to Acle / South Walsham, Martham, Hemsby, Winterton then stick to that B road all the way round the coast to Sheringham. Head inland in the rough direction of Cawston, Haveringland, Horsford.

  • 80 miles all in.

The only part that worries me is the Holt road back in to Norwich. That's a bitch of a road isn't it?

  • Holt Road is really boring and definitely not quiet.

When you leave Sheringham, turn left to West Beckham > Baconsthorpe > Plumstead > Little Barningham > Itteringham > Cawston > Haveringland > Horsford. These are all good quiet roads.

Take a map. You can't really get lost, if you stray too far you hit the Holt or Fakenham road and just follow that, but it's a lot less fun.

  • Done.

That route looks incredible, I'll probably take some map print outs in my jersey pocket. If I can keep an average speed of 15mph (should be able too, including stops) it'll take just under 5 hours, means I'll be home in time for lunch.

    Can't wait!!

  • Oh dear what happened there Sparks?

  • I lent it to Chris, aka He Who Bends Steel By Accident.

  • Hahaha. But it wasnt Chris who fucked it! Suppose he put the curse of Nelly Rodders upon it!

I dont do Saturdays but am gonna do Friday afternoon after work i recon. Should be a nice warm (not like today) afternoon! If anyones free on Friday, come along!

  • Not even Saturday mornings?

  • My kids get up between 6:00 and 7:30. Gems got em all on her own all week cos i leave so early, so I think its only fair that Im in with my Motley Crew
